Ali Cogia, the Merchant of Baghdad
Ali Cogia leaves a jar of olives with a merchant before a pilgrimage, secretly hiding one thousand gold coins inside it. When he returns after seven years, the gold is gone. A child playing judge notices that the olives are fresh, proving the jar was opened. The caliph repeats the test in court, and the dishonest merchant confesses.
